In a recent interview, John Cafiero told Rolling Stone: “I reached out to Dischord (Fugazi’s label) about covering the song, and eventually had the pleasure of speaking to (Fugazi vocalist) Ian MacKaye personally about it. Conceptually, it was intimidating because talking to Ian MacKaye about covering “Waiting Room” is like walking on metaphorical hallowed ground. But he’s truly someone that lives up to his ethos. On top of that, he couldn’t be a more gracious guy. Like the music he creates, Ian MacKaye is a role model for integrity without pretension.”

"JuiceheaD crank out some bustin O.S. punk rock; taking me back to my skater youth. They play hard and fast with some hints of ska, and entice a rather nice pit mid-set. They do look happy powering through songs ‘Rotting From The Inside’ ‘The American Dream’ ‘ Deadly Nightshade’ ‘Open Sore’ ‘Internal Bleeding’ ‘Disenchanted Youth’ and several more from their debut CD ‘How To Sail A Sinking Ship’ before dragging out a buddy to sing along to ‘Covered In Blood’ and finally closing their set with ‘Death Of Democracy’ (how’s that for punk rock) leaving behind a pleased crowd and me wanting to check out more about them.

Now the Misfits (should) need no introduction… the crowd swells largely here as the house lights dim, and all the stage attire is finely stripped of the black shrouds that have kept all the props ‘a secrecy’. Dramatically opening with title track from the new Cd ‘Devil’s Rain’ the Misfits are clearly here to prove to, and blow away any doubters…Jerry Only powers impressively through a well presented live stage set (props and lights included) concluding the first part of the set, quite rightly, being dedicated to for-said new Cd. Finally stopping for a few short words and then it’s old school time baby… ‘Static Age’ ‘Where Eagles Dare’ ‘ Death Comes Ripping’ ‘She’ and plenty more classics…and finishing the set with favorite ‘We Are 138’ before leaving the stage for a few minutes to return... An extensive encore of old classics and some new thrown in follows on. Set closer ‘Die Die My Darling’ is played at rocket speed finishing what proved to be a great Misfits gig. Jerry Only’s voice carried all the songs superbly keeping a classic Misfit vibe, and even the two songs that Dez sang fit in to secure the legacy that the Misfits are back and mean business (all be it a different line up, but a damn good one at that)."

"This was a night with Jerry Only behind the reigns, a night that will make your ears bleed but ultimately leave you screaming for more.

…the legendary JuiceheaD from Chicago managed to get a mosh pit going from the start to the very end of their set. The three-piece punk band delivered a lively and upbeat performance of dirty, jaw splitting tunes of every way, shape and form. With the comical facial expressions of vocalist Rob Vannice these guys were more than fun to watch.  From front to the back of the room they got the crowd well and truly hyped with their sing-along chorus’s and aggressive riffs. By the end of their set the audience were just about ready to wee their pants in excitement for The Misfits.

After a long and climatic intro with inches of smoke from the fog machine The Misfits were up and what an entrance they made! With skulls attached to every mike stand and a drum kit that looks like it had just risen from the grave. It was evident that the fans of Reading were in for a long night of horror fueled fun. With each song blasting into the next one Jerry Only left no time for applause and no time to stop the pits. It’s true what they say, there’s no rest for the wicked. With the generic dirty, grimy fast paced beats that make The Misfits so inspiring it is no wonder they are the iconic band they are. Jerry’s graphite bass guitar sounded as heavy as it probably was to hold and his trademark spiky leather jacket just added this surreal zombie, metal hedgehog look to the whole stage set. The strobe lighting got the crowd going crazy and the fists the high in the air as fans screamed along to the harsh sound of Jerry’s voice. By the end of the night it took an hour to get my hearing back but it was so worth it. With more line-up changes over the years than you can shake a fork at,  them members that now make up The Misfits are incredible. Jerry has still got it, and his voice is still as unique and mind blowing as it always was. Make sure you check them out on the rest of their UK tour while you still can!"

The album combines a classic punk rock sound with a modern feel; songs such as “Lorraine” and “American Dream” bounce with ska-like energy, while the tracks “Black Roses” and “When I Fall From Grace” feature cello and bagpipe arrangements, respectively. Clearly, JuiceheaD aren’t afraid to step outside of the box while still paying homage to the sound that they represent. Vocalist/guitarist Rob Vannice recent spoke to Rock Edition and shared his very personal thoughts and experiences with recording JuiceheaD’s new record, detailing how each track on the record came to be.
